What types of companies do you work with, and in what kind of situations?

We work with businesspeople at every level on the corporate ladder, who are really good at what they do, but who have not yet acquired or fully developed the skills to communicate and present as effectively as they could. Most communicate often (who doesn’t?), but with inconsistent results and varying degrees of success.

Some clients come to us to face their fear of public speaking because they’ve accepted that it has been hurting their career trajectories. Some are confident speakers and successful business leaders who need some objective feedback to stay at the top of their game. Most fall somewhere in between.

Over more than 35 years as consultants and trainers for Fortune 1000 companies, we have successfully worked with executives in virtually every industry and job function. To name a few…

  • Bankers
  • CEOs, CFOs, and other Chief “Something” Officers
  • Division heads
  • Consultants
  • Journalists
  • Lawyers
  • IT professionals
  • Accountants
  • Defense contractors
  • Not-for-profits
  • New hires and interns
  • Hedge fund managers
  • Sales & marketing professionals
  • Authors
  • Venture capital and private equity firms
  • Celebrity spokespeople
  • Human resources professionals
  • Public relations and investor relations firms

How are you different from others in your industry?

Our focus is very specialized: presentation skills training and media interview training for the business community. We deliver no-nonsense, undiluted expertise and from that, our clients derive tremendous results. In a time when anyone can hang out a shingle and call themselves a coach, the added value we bring to the table is the weight of over 35 years experience with world-leading companies, and individual coaches and trainers who each bring you many years of direct experience.

Perhaps the greatest difference you’ll find is the work we put in before our coaching sessions ever begin. By consulting closely with your public relations, communications, or human resources teams, we can target your specific obstacles so thoroughly that our clients achieve amazingly quick and powerful returns on both time and financial investments.

What’s the difference between presentation coaching and media training?

Presentation coaching is a bigger umbrella than media training. Anyone, at any level within an organization, who needs to communicate a mission-critical piece of information, is giving a presentation. It may be as informal as a voice mail or a weekly staff meeting, or as monumental as an IPO road show or an unexpected crisis management situation. But in every situation, being in control of your how you presentation your message can have a dramatic impact on the outcome.

Media training, on the other hand, is preparation specifically for speaking to the local, national, international or trade press. Any businessperson who is authorized to speak to the media on behalf of their company is a candidate for media training.

Do you offer writing skills or other communications coaching?

No. We focus exclusively on verbal communication in presentations, meetings, speeches and media interviews. Communication is a VERY broad term. We focus on spoken communication – formal and informal meetings, presentations and discussions. We do not address topics like writing skills, other than the support materials you use during presentations, like PowerPoint® and related documents. If you need assistance with written communication, we can refer you to an expert in that area.

My executives are pretty good speakers already and don’t think they need training. What would you say to them?

Our goal is to help executives move from being good speakers to being great communicators and leaders. It’s rare that an executive can’t pinpoint one area that he or she could stand to improve their communication skills. We successfully help your employees and leaders reduce nervousness and anxiety, eliminate ineffective communication habits and replace them with more positive behaviors, enhance their overall professional presence, and boost their reputation within the organization, with clients and with prospects.

We also examine communication within the context of where your executives are now, and where they want to be in the future, so we can address the specific things that are holding them back from being truly successful. Verbal communication is the skill set that, when nurtured, can result in exponential progress toward professional aspirations.

How quickly can I expect results?

Immediately. Our entire approach is about no-nonsense, practical and instantly implementable solutions to your spoken communication challenges. By utilizing your own materials and content when practicing and rehearsing, you are able to apply the enhanced messages and delivery skills right away.

Franchetti Communications’ sessions are designed to provide lasting impact. That said, those who see the most substantial results are the participants who commit to implementing the practical and realistic solutions they learn.

How many sessions are recommended?

The bulk of our clients see immediate results with one session. Some clients, such as those with more substantial communication challenges, those who wish to commit to a longer-term engagement due to their upward career trajectories, or those who are preparing for a major event after their initial session will often benefit from a follow up session or other types of reinforcement. We base our recommendations for follow up on the individual needs and circumstances.

What type of person do you work with and what is expected of me?

Our ideal trainees are eager to understand the steps they need to take to speak with clarity and confidence, and want to be successful. We work with all levels within an organization and with professionals from all over the globe, including those for whom English is a second language.

You will be notified of any pre-work or items that you need to bring to the session and/or send to us prior to the session. You will also receive instruction on how to prepare for the session so you get the most from your time with us.

If you are scheduling presentation training, it is important for all attendees to bring a realistic work-oriented sample presentation. If you are scheduling media training, it is important for the program coordinator (usually someone in public relations) to coordinate with us so we can be fully briefed on any current issues that can impact the company.

We expect all participants to have an open mind and to view our time together as a career enhancing opportunity.

Our training budget is tight. What does training cost and what is the ROI?

Ask yourself, “What is my current communication skill level costing me today, financially and otherwise?”

The life-long value of enhanced, commanding communication skills are difficult to measure. The information and skills you acquire through your work with Franchetti Communications will undoubtedly net you many times what you invest over the course of the next 10 to 20 years. That’s definitely something worth considering.

No matter how many dozens of books on presentation skills or public speaking you devour, you will not gain the insights, skills and real solutions you need without practice. Our sessions will move you forward faster, and in more ways, than you could ever progress on your own.

We do not publish our prices online. Please contact us directly to review your options and associated costs. Session prices are based in part on the following considerations:

  • Number of trainees
  • Type of training requested (presentation, media, rehearsal or investor event)
  • Duration of session or sessions
  • Necessary travel considerations

We are happy to work with you to find the most appropriate solution for your coaching needs.
